Two teens sitting were shot with a BB gun by an occupant of an SUV in a St. Catharines park last Thursday evening, Niagara police reported Monday.
A police news release said that four male teens, ages 17 to 18, were sitting on play equipment at Joe McCaffery Park at 61 Vansickle Road in St. Catharines at 8:50 pm Thursday.
A mid-sized SUV entered the park. It stopped with its glaring headlights on the teens. After a few minutes, shots from a BB gun rang out hitting two of the boys. It is estimated at least 10 shots were fired. The dark coloured SUV then left the area.
Two teens suffered minor injuries, but declined emergency medical services.
Niagara police detectives are investigating.
The identity and number of occupants in the dark coloured SUV is unknown.
