Niagara Falls Man Arrested for Drug Trafficking Offences

During the month of June 2022, the Niagara Regional Police Service 2 District – Niagara Falls Street Crime Unit entered an investigation in regards to the sale of controlled substances.

The investigation involved a house on Dorchester Road near Stamford Green Drive in the City of Niagara Falls.  As a result of the investigation on June 15, 2022, a Controlled Drugs and Substance Act search warrant was executed at the address.

Detectives seized the following suspected drugs from the house:

388.2 grams of fentanyl (Estimated street value $56000) 47.2 grams of cocaine (Estimated street value $2100) 22.7 grams of crystal methamphetamine (Estimated street value $800).

Detectives arrested a male suspect found at the home.   Daniel Herbert Varcoe (44 years) of Niagara Falls has been charged with the criminal offences of:

Possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, Sec. 5(2) CDSA (2 Counts) Possession of crystal methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking, Sec. 5(2) CDSA Possession of Fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking, Sec. 5(2) CDSA Failing to comply with undertaking, Sec. 145(4)(a) (3 Counts)

At the time of his arrest Varcoe had arrest warrants for the offences of failing to comply with a release order and mischief under $5000.

Varcoe was held in custody to attend a video bail hearing to the Robert S. K. Welch Courthouse in St. Catharines on June 16, 2022.
