On February 21st, 2023, at 10:51pm Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) officers assigned to 1 District (St. Catharines / Thorold) responded to a robbery that had just occurred at a pharmacy located on Scott Street between Niagara Street and Vine Street, in the City of St. Catharines.
Upon arrival, officers determined a lone male suspect approached a pharmacist and brandished a handgun before demanding pharmaceutical drugs and currency. The suspect then fled the scene on foot. The pharmacist did not sustain any physical injuries.
Responding officers with the assistance of the NRPS Canine Unit quickly converged in the area, however the suspect was not located. It is believed the suspect ran north toward the Regent Drive area.
Detectives assigned to the 1 District Criminal Investigative Branch have assumed carriage of the investigation. They are being supported by detectives from the Forensic Services Unit. Area residents and businesses are encouraged to review their CCTV footage for imagery that may assist in this investigation.
The suspect is described as follows:
– Male
– White
– 30 years of age
– 6’0” tall
– 200lbs
The suspect was last seen wearing:
– Dark blue winter toque
– Dark blue winter jacket
– Black sweatshirt with white lettering
– Camouflage pants
– Brown shoes
