On June 17, 2025, at approximately 7:00 a.m. uniform members of the Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) assigned to 3 District (Welland/Pelham) responded to a car dealership in the City of Welland for a reported Theft Over $5000 call for service.
The initial investigation determined that two suspects entered the exterior parking lot of the dealership the prior night. The suspects then stole two trailers.
Through the course of the investigation, officers determined that two suspects entered the exterior lot of the dealership during the overnight hours and stole two trailers. As a result of investigative efforts, 35-year-old Jeremy BOYER of Niagara Falls was identified as a suspect and subsequently wanted for multiple Criminal Code offences, including:
Fail to Comply with Release Order Fail to Comply with Probation Operate Conveyance While Prohibited Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000 Theft Over $5000
Since the initial incident, BOYER was involved in 19 police-related occurrences with the NRPS and was actively evading arrest while continuing to engage in criminal activity. On four occasions BOYER intentionally struck police vehicles causing significant damage while officers attempted to effect an arrest. No officers or members of the community were injured in these incidents
On Monday, July 28, 2025, uniform members of the Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) assigned to 5 District (Fort Erie/Ridgeway), with the assistance of detectives from 3 District (Welland/Pelham) Street Crime Unit (SCU), K9 Unit, and members of the Emergency Task Unit (ETU) attended an address in Crystal Beach. Jeremy BOYER was located hiding in an attic and arrested.
At the time of his arrest, BOYER was wanted on several outstanding warrants and has been charged with the following Criminal Code Offences:
Fail to Comply with Release Order (7 counts) Fail to Comply with Probation (6 counts) Fail to Attend Court Assault a Peace Officer with a Weapon Flight From Police (2 counts) Dangerous Operation (3 counts) Break and Enter Theft of a Motor Vehicle Fail to Stop at the Scene of an Accident (2 Counts) Operate Conveyance While Prohibited (6 Counts) Theft Under $5000 Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000 (5 counts) Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000 (2 counts)
BOYER was remanded into custody after attending a bail hearing Tuesday, July 29, 2025, via video link to the Robert S.K. Welch Courthouse, located at 59 Church Street in St. Catharines.
