UPDATE #1 – Peaceful Resolution Following Armed Person Call – West Lincoln

Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) detectives assigned to 8 District (Grimsby/Lincoln/West Lincoln) Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) have been actively investigating a firearm related incident that originated at a residence in the Town of West Lincoln on Monday, September 8, 2025.

On Tuesday, September 9, 2025, detectives received judicial authorization to execute a search warrant on the West Lincoln residence.

As a result of the investigation detectives seized 18 improperly stored firearms and additional ammunition.

 Christopher MORLEY, a 38-year-old West Lincoln man, has been charged with the following criminal offences:

Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose Careless use of Firearm – Used in a Careless Manner Careless use of Firearm – Contravention of storage regulations (two counts) Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm Possession of a Firearm knowing it is Unauthorized Possession of a Restricted Firearm with Ammunition

MORLEY remains in custody and is scheduled to attend a bail hearing Thursday, September 11, 2025, via video link to the Robert S.K. Welch Courthouse, located at 59 Church Street in St. Catharines.

This investigation remains ongoing, and more charges are expected. Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 905-688-4111, dial option 3, extension 1009528.
