On Tuesday, November 4, 2025, the Niagara Regional Police Service were contacted after two windows were damaged at the St. George Ukrainian Orthodox Church. Detectives with 1 District (St. Catharines/Thorold) Criminal Investigative Bureau (CIB) took carriage of the investigation and discovered that on Saturday, October 25, at approximately 12:30 am, two male suspects attended the church and placed face coverings over their faces before damaging two exterior windows on the church. In July 2025, uniformed officers with the Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) 1 District (St. Catharines/Thorold) and 2 District (Niagara Falls/Niagara-on-the-Lake) began an investigation involving allegations of human trafficking in Niagara Falls.
