The investigation into the August 9, 2023, vandalism at Heartland Forest in Niagara Falls has been ongoing by the 2 District detective office. As a result of that investigation detectives were able to identify four suspects.
Devon McIntyre (19 yrs.) of St. Catharines has been arrested and charged with the Criminal Code offence of:
Mischief over $5000
Paul Brunning (18 yrs.) of Welland has been arrested and charged with the Criminal Code offence of:
Mischief over $5000
A 17-year-old male from Welland has been arrested and charged with the Criminal Code offence of:
Mischief over $5000
A 17-year-old male from St. Catharines has been arrested and charged with the Criminal Code offence of:
Mischief over $5000
All four males were released from custody on Form 10 Undertakings with future court dates.
The Youth Criminal Justice Act of Canada prohibits the Niagara Region Police Service from releasing the identities of the accused young persons in this matter.
The estimate for repair and replacement of damaged items at Heartland Forest is $15,000.

Detectives from the 2 District (Niagara Falls/ Niagara on the Lake) office of the Niagara Regional Police Service are currently investigating after the Heartland Forest Nature Experience Center in Niagara Falls was vandalized.
On August 9, 2023, at approximately 12:15 am, four unknown suspects walked onto the property of Heartland Forest Nature Experience on Heartland Forest Road. Once on the property the suspects proceeded to cause damage on the exterior of the property, throwing garbage bins and park benches into a pond.
They also caused damage to a statue, a wooden bridge, signage, broke windows, damaged roof shingles, and a mini putt golf course.
Damage is believed to be over $10,000. The suspects left the property on foot at 12:35 am.
