Male Arrested in Relation to Robbery/Vehicle Theft in Niagara Falls

On December 10, 2023, at approximately 1:40pm, 2 District (Niagara Falls/Niagara-on-the-Lake) uniform officers with the Niagara Regional Police Service attended a parking lot in the area of Lundy’s Lane and Kalar Road in the City of Niagara Falls in regards to a robbery that just occurred.

Investigation revealed that a 49 year old male had entered his Dodge Ram pickup truck in a parking lot at this location, when a 25 year old male opened his driver side door, brandished a knife and demanded he get out of the truck. The victim exited the vehicle and the suspect then drove away with the vehicle.

Officers acted quickly and were able to locate the vehicle and suspect at a nearby Motel in the area of Lundy’s Lane and Montrose Road. The suspect was arrested, and the vehicle was returned to the victim without damage. 

There were no injuries as a result of the incident.

David C. Chukwuka (25 years old) of Halifax, Nova Scotia, was arrested and charged with the following offences:

Robbery Possession of a weapon

Chukwuka was held in custody pending a video bail hearing that is expected to take place on December 11, 2023, at the Robert S.K Welch Courthouse in St. Catharines.
