On Friday, October 17, 2025, the Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) Emergency Task Unit (ETU) will be conducting training in the area of Henley Island in the City of St Catharines. The training will take place between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Members of the public in the area should expect:
An increase in police presence The sound of simulated gun fire The sound of controlled explosions The smell of smoke
There will be signage and police tape in the training area. The public and media are asked to stay away from the training sites for their safety and the safety of the officers involved.
