Rainbow Bridge in Niagara Falls Closed Following Serious Incident

There has been an incident on the American side of the Rainbow Bridge that has resulted in its closure. The Rainbow Bridge connects the City of Niagara Falls, Ontario, to the City of Niagara Falls, New York.

Further to the Rainbow Bridge incident, out of an abundance of caution, all the border bridges in Niagara are closed at this time. As a result of the closing of the Niagara border crossings, members of the public should expect road closures near the bridges and significant traffic congestion on Niagara roadways, including highways and possibly city/town roads. The 405 Hwy that leads to the Lewiston–Queenston Bridge is closed.

We are monitoring the developments. There is no known threat on the Canadian side.

Members of the media may wish to communicate with CBSA or American officials. We have minimal involvement at this time.
