In June 2023, Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) detectives assigned to the 1 District (St. Catharines / Thorold) Street Crime Unit commenced an investigation into the distribution of illegal drugs throughout the City of St. Catharines.
On October 18th, 2023, detectives received judicial authorization to execute a search warrant on Hemlock Street near Hazel Street, in the City of St. Catharines. As a result of the investigation, two suspects have been arrested. In total, 43.4 grams of suspected cocaine, 16.7 grams of suspected fentanyl, and 500 hydromorphone pills was seized. The combined estimated value of the seized drugs is $17,680. In addition, detectives also recovered one stolen all-terrain vehicle (ATV), one high voltage taser, and $1,290 of Canadian currency believed to have been acquired through the proceeds of crime.
Janae Marine RADSMA (31 years) of St. Catharines has been arrested and charged with the following criminal offences:
• Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000
• Possession of Hydromorphone for the Purpose of Trafficking
• Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000
• Possession of Fentanyl for the Purpose of Trafficking
• Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking
• Possession of a Prohibited/Restricted Weapon
• Fail to Comply with Release Order
Anthony Allan SPEIRS (30 years) of no fixed address has been arrested and charged with the following criminal offences:
• Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000
• Possession of Hydromorphone for the Purpose of Trafficking
• Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000
• Possession of Fentanyl for the Purpose of Trafficking
• Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking
• Possession of a Prohibited/Restricted Weapon
Both RADSMA and SPEIRS remain in police custody. They are scheduled to attend a bail hearing later today (October 19th, 2023) via video link to the Robert S.K. Welch Courthouse, located at 59 Church Street in the City of St. Catharines.
