Update 1 – Arrest Made – Collision Reconstruction Unit Investigating Serious Motor Vehicle Accident

Wainfleet – The Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU) has been actively investigating the collision since September 9, 2025.  As a result of the investigation grounds were formed to support charges.

On December 3, 2025, 34-year-old Logan William BEAM, of Simcoe Ontario (the driver of the Silver Ram 1500) was arrested at headquarters and charged with the following offences.

Dangerous Operation Causing Bodily Harm (4 counts) Impaired Operation of a Conveyance Causing Bodily Harm – Drug (4 counts) Operation at or Above Low Blood Drug Concentration Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Weapon in a Motor Vehicle Possession of a Firearm, Weapon or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order Possession of a Schedule III Substance

BEAM remains in custody and is scheduled to attend a bail hearing Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at the Robert S.K. Welch Courthouse, located at 59 Church Street in St. Catharines.

ORIGINAL Release – Collision Reconstruction Unit Investigating Serious Motor Vehicle Accident – Port Colborne

On Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at approximately 4:25 p.m. uniform members of the Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) assigned to 6 District (Port Colborne/Wainfleet) responded to the area of Forks Road near Mills Race Road in the Township of Wainfleet for reports of a serious motor vehicle collision.

The initial investigation determined that three vehicles were involved in a collision. Five individuals required medical attention, with three of the patients being transferred to local hospitals and two of the patients being transported by Air Ornge to an out of region hospital.

The investigation is being continued by detectives with the NRPS Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU) with support from members of the Forensic Services Unit.
