UPDATE 2 – Male Injured in St Catharines Shooting
Detectives with the Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) 1 District (St. Catharines/Thorold) Criminal Investigations Bureau (CIB) continue to investigate a shooting that occurred in St Catharines near Vine Street and Old Pine Trail on October 17, 2025, at 10:20PM.
Detectives have received numerous calls regarding this incident and have confirmed that the dark grey sedan captured on video surveillance footage was not involved in this incident. UPDATE 1 – Male Injured in St Catharines Shooting
Detectives with the Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) 1 District (St. Catharines/Thorold) Criminal Investigations Bureau (CIB) have been continuously investigating a shooting that occurred in St. Catharines near Vine Street and Old Pine Trail, on October 17, 2025, at approximately 10:20PM.
They have received security footage of the two male suspects involved as well as their vehicle. Both suspects were wearing ski masks.
Suspect one is further described as wearing a sweater in which the top half is white, and the bottom half is black, and dark pants.
Suspect two is described as wearing a black sweater with a grey shirt underneath and dark pants.
The suspect vehicle is described as a dark grey sedan. It was last seen southbound on Vine Street from Old Pine Trail.
Detectives are asking that anyone who may have been in the area at the time of the shooting or for anyone who may have dashcam footage, video surveillance or any other pertinent information to call the Niagara Regional Police Service at 905-688-4111, option 3, extension 1009703.

ORIGINAL MEDIA RELEASE – 25-121664 – Male Injured in St. Catharines Shooting
St. Catharines – The Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) are actively investigating a shooting that has occurred in St. Catharines in the area of Vine Street and Old Pine Trail. There is a heavy police presence in the area. Police are asking for members of the public to stay clear.
At approximately 10:20 PM, uniform officers from 1 District (St. Catharines/Thorold) were dispatched to a plaza on the corner of Vine Street and Old Pine Trail for reports that a male had been shot. Officers arrived on scene and found a 26-year-old male suffering from a gunshot wound. That male has been taken to a out of region trauma centre for treatment of injuries. Those injuries are considered to be critical but not life threatening.
Early information is that two male suspects are involved. Both suspects were wearing masks. No other suspect description is available at this time. Updates will be made available once accurate information is obtained.
1 District Criminal Investigations Bureau (CIB) has taken carriage of this active investigation. Detectives believe that this was a targeted incident and do not believe there is an ongoing risk to the public at this time.
The scene is expected to be held for several hours for the Forensic Services Unit (FSU) to process
