On September 20, 2023, at 8:40am 2 District (Niagara Falls / Niagara on the Lake) uniform officers from the Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) responded to a report of a fight in the City of Niagara Falls.
Officers attended to a residential apartment building on Huron Street in Niagara Falls. Officers arrived on scene and found two men suffering from injuries. A 56-year-old man was transported to an out of region hospital by ORNGE air ambulance for serious injuries consistent with having been stabbed. Niagara Emergency Medical Services paramedics transported the other man to a local hospital for what is believed to minor injuries.
As a result of the investigation officers have arrested and charged both men.

Aggravated Assault
A 56-year-old man from Niagara Falls has been charged with the Criminal Code offence of:
Assault Cause Bodily Harm
The injuries of the involved men have been determined to be non-life threatening.
The 56-year-old man has been released from custody on a Form 10 Undertaking with a future court date; he remains in hospital. The 52-year-old man has been released from hospital and is in custody awaiting video bail hearing to be held at the Robert S. K. Welch Courthouse in St. Catharines on September 21, 2023.
A crime scene is being held while detectives from the 2 District detective office and Forensic Services Unit investigate. The crime scene is expected to be released later this afternoon.
