During the summer of 2025, detectives from the Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) 5 District (Fort Erie) Criminal Investigative Branch, with assistance from the 2 District (Niagara Falls/Niagara-on-the-Lake) Street Crime Unit, initiated an investigation into the suspected sale of controlled substances from a residence on Devon Place in Crystal Beach.
On July 22, 2025, a search warrant was authorized and executed under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA). As a result of the search, the following items were seized:
3,556.9 grams of cannabis 69.6 grams of Methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA) 11.6 grams of fentanyl One .22 calibre rifle A quantity of ammunition A set of nunchakus (nunchucks)
Two individuals were arrested at the scene: Rosario Morin (52) and Denise Audit (51), both residents of Crystal Beach.
Denise Audit has been charged with the following offences:
Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking, Fentanyl – CDSA Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking, MDMA – CDSA Possession of Cannabis for the Purpose of Distributing – Cannabis Act Possession of a Prohibited Weapon – Criminal Code Possession of a Restricted Firearm without a Licence – Criminal Code Careless Storage of a Firearm – Criminal Code
Audit was released on a Form 10 Undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court at a future date.
Rosario Morin was also found to be in possession of:
20.1 grams of fentanyl 6.1 grams of crystal methamphetamine $350 of Canadian Currency
Morin has been charged with the following offences:
Two counts of Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Fentanyl – CDSA Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – MDMA – CDSA Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine -CDSA Possession of Cannabis for the Purpose of Distributing – Cannabis Act Possession of a Prohibited Weapon – Criminal Code Possession of a Restricted Firearm without a Licence – Criminal Code Careless Storage of a Firearm – Criminal Code Possession of Proceeds Obtained by Crime Under $5,000 – Criminal Code
Morin remains in custody and is scheduled to attend a bail hearing on July 23, 2025, at the Robert S.K. Welch Courthouse, located at 59 Church Street, St. Catharines.
