Niagara police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred at Thorold’s Canview Drive-in Sunday

Officers were called to the drive-in at 9:05 p.m. last night. Witnesses revealed that a white male, wearing a purple zip-up sweater and a mask walked up to a female worker in the booth. He showed her a firearm, demanded money, and then fled the scene.

The armed man is believed to be in his 30s, and approximately 6 feet 2 inches tall, with a husky build.

Police canvassed the area with police dogs, but they didn’t find the man. Niagara police’s 3 District officers are investigating. Police urge anyone with information about the incident to come forward. If you have any information please contact detectives at 905-688-4111, option 3, badge #9058.

The Thorold robbery is yet another armed robbery in the region. In the last two years, there have been a handful of robberies at West Niagara businesses. Some of the most notable ones being the one at a CIBC in Grimsby and another at a Scotiabank in Grimsby both in early 2019.
