A Grimsby woman has been charged in relation to a fraud case after charity funds went missing from coffers of a local Royal Canadian Army Cadet Corps unit.
In April, Niagara police fraud unit detectives began an investigation into missing funds belonging to the Royal Canadian Army Cadet Corps in West Niagara. Police say the money that went missing had been collected through Royal Canadian Army Cadet Corps (RCACC) charitable fundraising.
The RCACC is a national Canadian youth program sponsored by the Canadian Armed Forces and the Civilian Army Cadet League of Canada that gives youth the opportunity to be involved in various outdoor activities, training and skill development.
Tracey L. Routsky, 51, of Grimsby, was arrested and charged by Niagara police with theft over $5,000. Routsky was released after being assigned a court date.
Police are asking anyone with information to contact the Niagara Regional Police at 905-688-4111, ext 1002200.
