Niagara school boards report two new COVID-19 cases in schools

Canadian Martyrs Catholic Elementary School A case was confirmed at Canadian Martyrs Catholic Elementary School in St. Catharines.

Two new cases of COVID-19 have been reported in Niagara schools.

Niagara Catholic said in advisory Sunday night it has been advised that an individual at Canadian Martyrs Catholic Elementary School in St. Catharines has tested positive for COVID-19. The person is currently in self-isolation. The principal of Canadian Martyrs Catholic Elementary School has sent a letter to all students and staff to notify them.

The District School Board of Niagara said Sunday it has been advised a person at Quaker Road Public School in Welland has tested positive for COVID-19. As a result, students and staff at the school were exposed to COVID-19 while the individual was infectious. Students and staff who had close contact with the individual have been contacted and told by NRPH to stay home and self-isolate.
