Niagara police are seeking a “suspicious person” who drove a Thorold boy and his bike home and gave him money.
Uniform officers from the Niagara Regional Police Service person met with an 11-year-old boy and his family on April 16. The initial investigation determined that on April 15 between 5:30pm and 6:00pm the boy had been walking home in the area of Front Street North and McNamara Street in Thorold.
An unknown adult male drove by the boy and offered him a ride home. The boy accepted the ride and his bike was loaded into the trunk. The boy was driven home, and prior to getting out of the car the boy was given a small sum of money. The boy was not injured.
Police said in a news release that “at present, no crime has been alleged.” However, they are seeking to identify the man “to determine his intentions”.
The adult male is described by police as: White male with long blonde hair in a bun and a hat. He has a beard/moustache. He was wearing a long plaid red lumberjack or construction worker red polo shirt and construction vest as well as blue jeans, black shoes, and sunglasses.
His vehicle is described as: Black Infinity Q60 four-door sedan with tinted windows with a loud / custom exhaust system and cloth interior. Partial license plate “HIQ1”. The NRPS news release said the vehicle may also be a Tesla Model 3.
