NRPS Officers in Welland Searching For Stolen Truck

On November 9, 2021, at approximately 7:27AM, 3 District Welland uniform officers responded to a report of a possible impaired driver in Welland.

Officers attended a fast-food restaurant in the area if King Street and Kent Street in Welland.  Officers had received reports that a white GMC Sierra pick truck was parked in the parking lot and the driver and passenger were displaying physical signs of being impaired.

It was also determined the truck was stolen.  Officers located the truck in the area of Prince Charles Drive and Lincoln Street.  The truck was parked in a parking lot of a different fast-food restaurant.

The first officer on scene blocked the truck in.  The truck rammed the fully marked cruiser and forced its way out of the lot.  Officers very quickly discontinued any pursuit out of a concern for public safety.

The truck was last seen heading west on Lincoln Street near Riverside Drive.

No officers were injured.

There was minor damage to the police SUV.

Anyone who may have information about the identity of the driver or passengers of the truck, or the truck’s current location, is asked to call 905-688-4111, extension 1023300.
