Traffic Stop by NRPS Port Colborne Officer Leads to Arrest and Fentanyl Seizure

On March 1, 2022, at approximately 12:58 PM, a 6 – District – Port Colborne uniform officer from the Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) was on general patrol in the City of Port Colborne.

The officer was driving in the area of Welland Avenue and Louis Street when they noticed a Mitsubishi Gallant with a Quebec licence plate parked near a suspected drug house.   When the driver saw the marked police cruiser, they quickly drove away making multiple turns.  The driver (only person in the car) parked in the area of Davis Street and Killaly Street East.  The driver exited the car and began to walk away.  The officer approached the driver and determined their driver’s licence was suspended.  The driver was arrested for driving with a suspended licence.  A search of the driver following his arrest found multiple cell phones and $634 in cash.

Further investigation and a subsequent search of the Mitsubishi led to the discovery and seizure of:

486.6 grams of suspected Fentanyl (estimated street value of $145,980) 3.4 grams of suspected cocaine (estimated street value of $350)

Jammarr Anthony Miller (29 years) of Brampton has been arrested and charged with the offences of:

Possession of fentanyl for the Purpose of Trafficking, Section 5(2) Controlled Drugs and Substances Act Possession of cocaine, Section 4(1) Controlled Drugs and Substances Act Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000, Section 355(b) Criminal Code Driving While Under Suspension, Section 53(1) Highway Traffic Act

Miller has been held in custody for a video bail hearing on March 2, 2022, at the Robert S. K. Welch Courthouse in St. Catharines.
