On June 7th, 2022, at approximately 7:00pm Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) officers assigned to 2 District (Niagara Falls / Niagara-On-The-Lake) responded to a gas station in the area of Lundy’s Lane and Carlton Avenue, in the City of Niagara Falls regarding a robbery that just occurred.
Investigation revealed that two male suspects had arrived at the location in a vehicle. One suspect exited the vehicle, entered the premise, and allegedly proceeded to physically assault the store clerk. In addition to an undisclosed amount of Canadian currency, the suspect also stole consumable goods, before exiting the premise to the awaiting get-away vehicle. The victim in this matter, the store clerk, sustained minor physical injuries.
2 District officers quickly identified the suspect vehicle and attended the address of the registered owner. When the suspect vehicle arrived, both suspects were arrested.
Thomas RYCE (44 years) of Niagara Falls is charged with the following Criminal Code offences:

• Disguise with intent
Kenneth CHAPMAN (56 years) of Niagara Falls is charged with the following Criminal Code offence:
• Robbery
RYCE was held in custody pending a bail hearing that occurred on June 8th, 2022, via video link to the Robert S.K. Welch Courthouse, located at 59 Church Street in the City of St. Catharines. RYCE was released from custody on a release order/undertaking and has a scheduled court appearance on July 5th, 2022, at 59 Church Street, in the City of St. Catharines. CHAPMAN was released from police custody on an undertaking and has a scheduled court appearance on August 17th, 2022, at 59 Church Street, in the City of St. Catharines.
