Arrest Made in Child Abuse Investigation – Fort Erie

In July 2022, Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) detectives assigned to the Child Abuse Unit (CAU) commenced an investigation into an allegation of child sexual abuse having occurred inside a residential dwelling in the Town of Fort Erie.

Sean SCHNEIDER (50 years) of Fort Erie has been charged with the following Criminal Code offences:

          • Sexual Assault on a Person Under 16 Years of Age

          • Sexual Interference with a Person Under 16 Years of Age

The victim, an adolescent male and SCHNEIDER were known to one and other.

Investigation by detectives has revealed that SCHNEIDER may have been operating an unlicensed babysitting/daycare service out of his residence in the Town of Fort Erie.

As a result of the investigation, detectives have reason to believe there may be additional victims.

SCHNEIDER was arrested on July 6th, 2022, and was held for a bail hearing.
