On August 13th, 2022, at 11:40pm Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) officers assigned to 2 District (Niagara Falls / Niagara-on-the-Lake) responded to a fast-food restaurant in the City of Niagara Falls regarding a robbery that just occurred.
Investigation determined a pizza delivery driver arrived at their prescribed destination in the area of Niagara Falls Road and Morton Street, in the City of Thorold and was robbed at knife point. The suspect fled the scene on foot with an undisclosed amount of Canadian currency. The pizza delivery driver sustained no physical injuries.
On August 14th, 2022, at 2:50pm NRPS officers assigned to 1 District (St. Catharines/ Thorold) responded to the area of Niagara Falls Road and Ontario Street, in the City of Thorold regarding a robbery that just occurred.
Investigation determined a pizza delivery driver arrived at their prescribed destination. Upon arrival, the driver was approached by the suspect who was armed with a knife and demanded money. The suspect fled the scene on foot with an undisclosed amount of Canadian currency. The pizza delivery driver sustained minor physical injuries that did not require hospitalization.
1 District and 2 District detectives believe both robberies are connected. Surveillance footage of the suspect has been obtained from the second incident that occurred on August 14th, 2022, at 2:50pm. Detectives are appealing to members of the public for assistance identifying the suspect who is described as follows:
– Male
– Dark skin
– 20-30 years of age
– 5’8” tall
– 119lbs
– Wearing a grey baseball hat
– Wearing a long-sleeved blue shirt
– Wearing black/brown track pants
– Wearing a blue medical mask
The suspect is considered to be armed and dangerous.
Detectives are also appealing to members of the public who may have been in the area at the time of either robbery. Residents with CCTV footage in the City of Thorold that captures Niagara Falls Road, Morton Street, and/or Ontario Street and motorists who may have been in the area with an operational dash-camera are encouraged to review their footage.
