1 Male Arrested in St.Catharines Stabbing

On Monday August 22, 2022, 1 District (St. Catharines/Thorold) Uniform officers with the Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) responded to a report of a stabbing incident in St. Catharines. 

Officers attended the area of Albert and Lake Streets in St. Catharines. Paramedics from Niagara Emergency Medical Services were treating a male victim for serious stab wounds.  The victim was transported by ambulance to a trauma hospital outside the Niagara Region where he remains in serious but stable condition. 

Investigation by 1 District Detectives has found that the male had been involved in an altercation at a nearby residence, during which he was stabbed multiple times.

Shortly after, a male suspect was identified and arrested. 

48-year-old Robert Stockwell of St. Catharines is facing the following charge:

Aggravated Assault

Stockwell is currently being held in custody pending a bail hearing on Tuesday August 23, 2022, at the Robert S.K. Welch Courthouse in the City of St. Catharines.
