3 Youths Arrested in Relation to Stabbing in St. Catharines

On Thursday, October 10, 2024, at approximately 10:45pm, 1 District (St. Catharines/Thorold) uniform officers with the Niagara Regional Police Service attended the area of St Paul Street West and Edith Street in the City of St. Catharines in response to a stabbing.

Investigation revealed that 6 males were in an altercation which escalated to a 46 year old male and a 15 year old male getting stabbed by 3 youth males. A near by establishment became aware of the incident and took the male victims into their establishment to aid the victims until police arrived.

The adult male victim sustained minor physical injuries.  The youth male victim sustained life threatening injuries and was transported to an out of region hospital.  He is currently in stable condition.

As a result of the investigation, detectives were able to identify the youth males.

A 15 year old male from St. Catharines, was arrested and charged with the following offences:

All three accused were held in bail pending a bail hearing that is expected to take place on October 11, 2024, at the Robert S.K. Welch Courthouse located at 59 Church Street in the City of St. Catharines.

The Youth Criminal Justice Act of Canada prohibits the Niagara Region Police Service from releasing the identity of the accused young persons involved in this matter.
