On April 9, 2022 Kyle Brocklebank was reported missing and was last seen on March 24th, 2022 in Smithville. As a result, 8 District (Grimsby/West Lincoln/Lincoln) detectives have been continuing to investigate the matter.
On Wednesday October 9, 2024, at 6:30pm, 8 District (Grimsby/Lincoln/West Lincoln) uniform officers from the Niagara Regional Police Service responded to the area of Young Street and South Grimsby Road 6 in the Township of West Lincoln following the report of found human remains.
Through an ongoing investigation conducted by 8 District detectives, the NRPS Missing Person Coordinator, NRPS Forensic Services Unit, and the Regional Coroner’s Office it has been confirmed that the found human remains are those of missing person Kyle Brocklebank (NRPS 22-37767).
Criminality is not suspected in the death and there is no ongoing risk to public safety. Further details will not be released out of respect for his family and his privacy.

On Wednesday October 9, 2024, at 6:30pm, 8 District (Grimsby/Lincoln/West Lincoln) uniform officers from the Niagara Regional Police Service responded to the area of Young Street and South Grimsby Road 6 in the Township of West Lincoln following the report of found human remains.
When officers arrived, they discovered that a resident had located a jawbone, believed to be human.
Further investigation located further remains along with clothing.
Police are currently on scene as they continue to investigate with the assistance of the Forensic Services Unit and a forensic anthropologist.
At this time, the cause of death and identity of the person have not been confirmed.
