Detectives Investigating Serious Collision in Niagara Falls – Update 1 – ARREST

Update 1 – Arrest – January 30, 2025

Niagara Regional Police Service Detectives with the Collision Reconstruction Unit continue to investigate the collision that occurred on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at 3:15pm in the area of Kalar Road and Montrose Road in the City of Niagara Falls.

As a result, Todd WILLISTON (52 years old) of Niagara Falls has been arrested and charged in relation to this investigation with the following offences:

Dangerous Operation Causing Bodily Harm (3 Counts) Attempted Murder (3 Counts)

WILLISTON has been held in custody pending a bail hearing that is expected to take place on January 31, 2025 at the Robert S.K. Welch Courthouse located at 59 Church Street in the City of St. Catharines.

Original Release – November 9, 2024

On Saturday, November 9, 2024 at approximately 3:15pm, 2 District (Niagara Falls/Niagara-on-the-Lake) uniform officers with the Niagara Regional Police Service attended the area of Kalar Road and Montrose Road in the City of Niagara Falls for a serious motor vehicle collision. 

Investigation revealed a 52 year old male was operating a gray Chevrolet Equinox northbound on Kalar Road.  Simultaneously a 63 year old female was operating a white Jeep Compass, with a 63 year old passenger and a 64 year old passenger southbound on Kalar Road. Both vehicles collided head on.  

The 52 year old male was transported to an out of regional hospital with life threatening injuries. 

The 63 year old driver was transported to an out of region hospital with life threatening injuries. She is in stable condition.

The two female passengers were transported to a local hospital with non life threatening injuries.  

Detectives with the Collision Reconstruction Unit have taken carriage of the investigation.
