Detectives from the Niagara Regional Police Service Sexual Assault Unit have been actively investigating this matter.
Following the media release, a suspect was identified. Detectives attended a home in St. Catharines and arrested a 16-year-old male. The 16-year-old male from Niagara Falls has been charged with the following Criminal Code offence:
Sexual assault
The male was held in custody for a video bail hearing at the Robert S.K. Welch Courthouse in St. Catharines on April 19, 2025.
In accordance with the Youth Criminal Justice Act of Canada, the Niagara Regional Police Service is prohibited from releasing the identity of a young person (under 18 years) charged with a criminal offence.
The Niagara Regional Police Service has removed the 16-year-old’s photos from the original release and social media channels.
