UPDATE 1 – 2025-9523
In January 2025, detectives with the Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) Collision Reconstruction Unit investigated the circumstances surrounding a motor vehicle collision that resulted in the death of a 16-year-old female.
As a result of that investigation, detectives have charged a 33-year-old female from Niagara Falls, with careless driving causing death, contrary to section 130(3) of the Highway Traffic Act.
Anyone with information, or who may have been in the area with video or dash cam footage, is encouraged to contact detectives at 905-688-4111, option 3, ext. 1009259.

Detectives Investigating Fatality in Niagara Falls 2025-01-08
On Monday, January 27, 2025, at approximately 6:34pm, 2 District (Niagara Falls/Niagara on-the-Lake) uniform officers with the Niagara Regional Police Service attended the area of Thorold Stone Road and Beechwood Road in Niagara Falls for a serious collision.
Investigation revealed a 16-year-old female was operating a gray Hyandai Accent westbound on Thorold Stone Road when a 32-year-old was operating a black Chevrolet Cruz eastbound on Thorold Stone Road. As a result, the 16-year-old female lost control and entered oncoming traffic, colliding with the other vehicle.
Tragically the 16-year-old female succumbed to her injuries at a local hospital.
The 32-year-old female was transported to a local hospital with minor physical injuries.
Detectives with the Collision Reconstruction Unit with the Niagara Regional Police Service have taken carriage of the investigation.
