Fort Erie Man Arrested in Fraud Investigation

On Thursday, March 6, 2025, at approximately 7:30 p.m. uniform members of the Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) assigned to 1 District (St. Catharines/Thorold) responded to a commercial business in the area of Geneva Street and the North Service Road for a reported fraud.

The initial investigation revealed that a male suspect entered a store and selected various items valued over $5,000. Through multiple payment attempts, it became evident that the suspect was attempting to defraud the business.

As a result, the investigation was continued by detectives from the NRPS Fraud Unit.

As a result of the investigation, on June 24, 2025, Kevin LUTCHMANSINGH (53 years) of Fort Erie, was arrested and charged with the following criminal offences:

Utter Forged Document (2 counts) Fraud Over $5000

LUTCHMANSINGH remains in custody and is scheduled to attend a bail hearing Tuesday, June 24, 2025, via video link to the Robert S.K. Welch Courthouse, located at 59 Church Street in St. Catharines.
