On Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at approximately 8:00 a.m. uniform members of the Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) assigned to 1 District (St. Catharines/Thorold) responded to a local hospital for reports of an individual suffering from gun shot wounds.
The investigation was immediately turned over to detectives with 1 District Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB). As a result of the investigation, two individuals were arrested.
Tomesha MCBRIDE, a 31-year-old-resident of Thorold, has been arrested and charged with the following offences:
– Careless Use of a Firearm
– Pointing a Firearm
– Use of a Firearm During the Commission of an Offence
– Possess a Firearm Without Holding a License
– Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm in a Motor Vehicle
– Aggravated Assault
– Obstruct Peace Officer
Malachi CAMPBELL, an 18-year-old resident of Thorold, has been arrested and charged with the following criminal offences:
– Possess a Firearm Without Holding a License
– Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm in a Motor Vehicle
– Possession of Prohibited Ammunition
– Obstruct Peace Officer
MCBRIDE was remanded into custody after attending a bail hearing on June 26, 2025, via video link to the Robert S.K. Welch Courthouse, located at 59 Church Street in St. Catharines.
CAMPBELL was released with a future court date.
