On Thursday, July 3, 2025, uniform members of the Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) assigned to 3 District (Welland/Pelham) responded to a retirement condominium in the City of Welland for reports of multiple break and enters.
The initial investigation determined that three suspects attended the condominium units while the occupants were away on vacation and stole valuables. The suspects first attended on June 28, 2025, and again on July 1, 2025.
The investigation was taken over by detectives with the 3 District Street Crime Unit (SCU). To date, the investigation has determined that the three suspects disguised in black, with their identities concealed, entered units and stole a variety of valuables including jewellery, cash, and a significant quantity of precious metals – specifically, a nominal amount of one-ounce silver bars.
Detectives believe the suspects attempted to sell or trade these silver bars and are appealing to pawn shops, second-hand dealers, precious metal buyers, or any businesses that may have been approached by individuals looking to sell similar items.
This investigation remains ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 905-688-4111, dial option 3, extension 1009177.
