On Monday, August 18, 2025, at approximately 5:15 p.m. uniform members of the Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) assigned to 3 District (Welland/Pelham) responded to the Steve Bauer Trail in the area of Woodlawn Road and Clare Avenue for a reported Sexual Assault.
The initial investigation determined that a female was walking on the Steve Bauer Trail when an interaction occurred with an unknown male and his dog. During this interaction the female was assaulted, and the male exposed himself.
Detectives with the NRPS Sexual Assault Unit assumed carriage of the investigation.
Nathan JOLIN, a 28-year-old Welland resident, has been charged with the following criminal code offences:
Sexual Assault Indecent Act
JOLIN remains in custody and is scheduled to attend a bail hearing Tuesday, August 19, 2025, via video link to the Robert S.K. Welch Courthouse, located at 59 Church Street in St. Catharines.
