The Ontario government said drivers will be able to book class G road tests province-wide again starting Tuesday.
All other driver testing services will also be available with previous restrictions lifted at DriveTest locations across Ontario. Services such as knowledge tests and license exchanges/upgrades are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. All road tests will be made by appointment only.
Additional safety precautions have been put in place to protect the health and safety of staff and those using DriveTest services. Accommodations will be made for motorcycle road tests and people with a medical condition or disability.
Customers must wear face coverings inside centres and during road tests and sanitize their hands upon entry of a driving centre. Those taking road tests will be subject to temperature checks and screening questions before the test begins.
Staff will be provided with the necessary personal protective equipment needed to safely serve customers. Driver examiners will be equipped with face shields, sanitizer packages, and seat covers when administering road tests.
The government of Ontario is asking residents to delay visiting DriveTest centres if possible in order to reduce crowding.
Ontario announced earlier this year that driver’s licenses that have expired on or after March 1, 2020, will remain valid until further notice. Therefore, there will not be an immediate need for drivers to renew licenses once centres open fully next week.
