After a spike in new daily COVID-19 cases in Ontario yesterday, today’s report dropped to 251.
The Ontario government reported 251 new COVID-19 cases today against 313 new cases reported yesterday.
“Ontario is reporting 251 cases of #COVID19 as nearly 28,000 tests were processed. Locally, 24 public health units are reporting five or fewer cases with 14 reporting no new cases,” said Health Minister Christine Elliot on Twitter this morning.
Toronto is reporting 73 new cases, with 51 in Ottawa and 42 in Peel. Niagara Region will report new cases later today. Yesterday it reported 7 new cases.
Ontario has now had 45,068 confirmed cases, with 40,091 of those are resolved. There have been 2,820 deaths. There are 47 cases in hospital, with 19 in intensive care and 11 on ventilators.
The total number of confirmed cases in the Niagara Region is now at 969 with 874 cases resolved. Of those cases, there are 31 active cases and zero active outbreaks. There have been 64 deaths.
