A COVID-19 case has been reported at Grimsby’s Park Public School. The District School Board of Niagara also reported an infection at Eden High School in St. Catharines Sunday.
For privacy reasons, the identities of the two individuals will not be shared, said a DSBN advisory.
Park Public School is located at 217 Main St E in Grimsby. Eden High School is located at 535 Lake St in St. Catharines.
The DSBN is also reporting one closed classroom at Park and one closed classroom at Eden High School. Both schools remain open.
Students and staff who were in close proximity to the two individuals will be contacted by Niagara Regional Public Health and asked to stay home and self-isolate.
Meanwhile, the DSBN reported that Eastdale Secondary School who were required to stay home due to three infections at that school will return to school this week.
It said custodians will complete a thorough cleaning of each identified school. A Public Health
Inspector and a Public Health Nurse from Niagara Regional Public Health will visit both schools Monday to complete a comprehensive assessment. The Eden and Park school communities will continue preventative COVID- 19 practices such as wearing PPE, physical distancing, maintaining hand hygiene, and doing the daily health screening.

COVID-19 in Niagara schools
The DSBN is currently reporting eight confirmed cases of COVID-19 in seven of its schools, with 12 closed classrooms. All DSBN schools are open.
Niagara Catholic is reporting five confirmed cases of COVID-19 in five of its schools, with no closed classrooms. All Niagara Catholic schools are open.
COVID-19 in West Niagara schools
There are no COVID-19 cases reported in west Niagara schools from either school board.

School Board COVID-19 Online Trackers
Both Niagara school boards have online COVID-19 trackers that set out school data that parents can access online.
The District School Board of Niagara launched its tracker page at: https://www.dsbn.org/covid-19-information/covid-19-public-advisory.
It publishes a table of its schools listed alphabetically and tracks the “date of confirmed positive test” along with confirmed cases in each school, closed classrooms, and school closure status.
For example, the first DSBN school to register a COVID-19 case was Eastdale Secondary School in Welland. It shows the latest test date of Sept 18, 2020. It shows three cases and five closed classrooms.
The boards do not report who was infected, or whether the case relates to a student or staff member.
