The Ontario government is moving Haldimand-Norfolk, and four other regions to more restrictive levels of its COVID response framework.
Haldimand-Norfolk, Windsor, Hastings Prince Edward, Lambton, and Northwestern regions have all been moved into new levels based on the latest COVID case data.
Haldimand-Norfolk borders Wainfleet and West Lincoln in the Niagara Region
“Over the last week we have seen a shift in the trends of key public health indicators in regions across the province, and by moving these five regions to a new level in the framework, we can ensure that the necessary targeted measures are in place to stop the spread of the virus and allow us to keep our schools and businesses open,” said Christine Elliott, Deputy Premier and Minister of Health.
Effective Monday, Nov. 30 at 12:01 a.m., the following regions will be moving from their current level to the following levels:
- Red-Control
- Windsor-Essex County Health Unit.
- Orange-Restrict
- Haldimand-Norfolk Health Unit.
- Yellow-Protect
- Hastings Prince Edward Public Health
- Lambton Public Health; and
- Northwestern Health Unit.
Niagara Region stays in the orange tier. All other public health regions will remain at their current levels. A full list of public health classifications can be found here: Ontario.ca/covidresponse.
