Car wash fire is suspected arson, says Niagara police

A car wash fire in St. Catharines is being investigated as suspected arson by Niagara police.

Last, Thursday, at approximately 8:24pm, uniform officers from the  Niagara Regional Police Service responded, along with local firefighters to the Petro Canada station, located at 330 Ontario Street in St. Catharines. 

A disused car wash building was on fire and was subsequently extinguished. It had not been in operation for approximately one year, police said in a news release. No one was injured. 

Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity on April 1, 2021, between 7:30pm and 8:25pm in the area of the car wash is asked to contact detectives at 905-688-4111, extension 1009531.
