Ontario is reporting 625 new COVID-19 cases today, an increase from yesterday’s 554 cases, but trending down below the 700 new cases reported on Monday.
The Ontario government is investing $540 million to protect long-term care homes. This will help long-term care homes makes necessary changes to improve the support and safety of vulnerable populations.
A car driven by a Welland man, sought by Niagara police, was recovered today. However, a manhunt still underway for the driver. He is wanted after two pedestrians were struck by a different car, that was crashed into a tree and abandoned, yesterday in St Catharines.
Effective immediately, Niagara Health is limiting test administration to those more at risk of having COVID-19. Additionally, it is moving to appointment only effective Monday, Sept, 28.
The Ontario government is investing $52.5 million to retain and support healthcare workers, and to recruit over 3,700 more frontline workers across the province.
The Ontario government reported 700 new COVID-19 cases today, the highest daily case number ever recorded in the province. There were over 900 new cases reported this weekend.
