The Town of Lincoln said there is no vaccine clinic in Linon on Saturday. The province scheduled it on its portal by mistake, a town advisory says.
The Apr. 3 clinic had been listed in the provincial COVID-19 vaccine registration portal and was also showing on the Niagara Region website. People had scheduled to get a needle at the Lincoln Community Centre. However, the town says there is no clinic available in Lincoln that day.
In a news release, the town said provincial staff are contacting individuals who had appointments booked for April 3 at the Lincoln Community Centre. They will arrange to reschedule where possible.
Anyone scheduled for an Apr. 3 for the appointment and who has not been contacted about the cancellation should contact the Town of Lincoln at 905-563-8205 for assistance.
“This is an unfortunate situation. While the error happened through the provincial booking system, we are doing everything in our power to inform our community members and respond to anyone who has questions about the vaccination plan in Niagara and Lincoln,” said Town of Lincoln Mayor Sandra Easton. “We thank everyone for their patience as we work cooperatively with our partners to resolve this error.”
“We understand this situation may be frustrating or upsetting for residents who are anxiously awaiting their first vaccine,” added the Town’s CAO Michael Kirkopoulos. “Additional clinic dates are being added to the provincial booking system as vaccine supply becomes available, and we will continue to keep the Lincoln community informed of any updates in this regard.”
There are clinics in other communities as follows and can be booked through the provincial portal:
- April 11 & 12 – Niagara Falls, MacBain Community Centre
- April 13 & 14 – Port Colborne, Vale Health and Wellness Centre
- April 15 & 16 – Grimsby, Niagara West YMCA
- April 17 & 18 – Welland, Niagara Centre YMCA
