Detectives Execute Search Warrant and Recover Firearm – Fort Erie

On April 23rd, 2022, as a result of an investigation into the possession of illegal firearms, members of the Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) 5 District (Fort Erie) detectives and 2 District (Niagara Falls/Niagara-on-the-Lake) street crime detectives received judicial authorization to search a residence in the area of Bertie Street and Douglas Street, in the Town of Fort Erie.

The warrant was executed by members from the NRPS Emergency Tactical Unit (ETU) and Canine Unit (K9).  One suspect was arrested, and one firearm was recovered.

Terry GALLAGHER (50 years) of Fort Erie has been charged with the following offences:

• Possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized – Criminal Code of Canada

• Possession of a firearm contrary to prohibition order – Criminal Code of Canada

• Possession of a firearm without a licence – Criminal Code of Canada

GALLAGHER was held in custody and will attend a bail hearing via video link to the John Sopinka Courthouse on April 23rd, 2022, located at 45 Main Street East, in the City of Hamilton.
