Detectives Investigating Motor Vehicle Collision Involving A Pedestrian in Niagara Falls – Update 1

Update 1 – January 29, 2025

Detectives continue to investigate the collision that occurred on Monday, January 27, 2025, at approximately 6:50pm,  in the area of Mcleod Road and Dorchester Road in the City of Niagara Falls.

Tragically,  the 79-year-old male has succumbed to his injuries at an out of region hospital.

Anyone with information or any who may have been in the area with video footage or dash cam footage is encouraged to contact detectives at 905-688-4111, option 3, ext 1009504.

Original Release – January 28, 2025

On Monday, January 27, 2025, at approximately 6:50pm,  2 District (Niagara Falls/Niagara on-the-Lake uniform officers with the Niagara Regional Police Service attended the area of Mcleod Road and Dorchester Road in the City of Niagara Falls for a pedestrian struck by a vehicle. 

Investigation revealed a 79-year-old male was crossing the roadway when a 62-year-old was operating a blue Audi Q3 south bound on Dorchester Road when he made a turn onto Mcleod Road. As a result, the vehicle collided with the pedestrian. 

The 79 year old male was transported to an out of region hospital with life threatening injuries. 

Detectives with the Collision Reconstruction Unit with the Niagara Regional Police Service have taken carriage of the investigation.
