Detectives Looking for Witnesses Following NOTL Hit and Run – Update 3

The investigation into the July 13, 2023, fail to remain collision in Niagara on the Lake has been ongoing by detectives from the Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) Collision Reconstruction Unit.

On July 25, 2023, Nestor Chemerika, the 84-year male victim from Niagara on the Lake tragically died in hospital from the injuries sustained from being struck while cycling.  His identity is being released with the permission of his family.  The family requests their privacy during this very difficult time.   

The 1999 pewter metallic GMC Sierra pick truck continues to undergo examination by detectives from the NRPS Forensic Services Unit.

The investigation remains ongoing by Collision Reconstruction Unit detectives.  Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the investigating officers by calling 905-0688-4111, option 3, extension 1009089.
