Detectives Seek Witnesses After Shooting Incident in Niagara Falls (Chippawa)

On September 30th, 2023, at 7:24am Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) officers assigned to 2 District (Niagara Falls / Niagara-on-the-Lake) responded to a shooting incident on Chippawa Parkway between Daly Street and Norton Street, in the City of Niagara Falls.

Upon arrival, officers learned an area resident was awoken to a 28-year-old male knocking on their door complaining of having been shot. Niagara Emergency Medical Service (NEMS) paramedics responded to the scene and transported the victim to an out-of-town trauma centre. The victim remains in hospital at this time suffering from non-life-threatening injuries.

Detectives assigned to the 2 District Criminal Investigative Branch have assumed carriage of the investigation. They are being assisted by detectives assigned to the Forensic Services Unit. Investigation thus far has led detectives to believe this to be a targeted incident and there is no known threat to public safety.

Area residents are being asked to review their surveillance footage and contact the lead detective by dialing 905-688-4111, option 3, extension 1009408 with any relevant information.
