The Niagara Regional Police Service is currently investigating 16 reports of parked vehicles having been damaged in both the City of Welland and Town of Pelham during the overnight hours on November 29th, 2022. All incidents are believed to have occurred between 1:00am and 2:30am. It is believed the suspect is using an unknown tool to break the windows.
The target locations in the City of Welland are listed as follows:
– Autumn Crescent / Oakcrest Avenue
– Heritage Lane / Countryside Drive
The target locations in the Town of Pelham are listed as follows:
– Rolling Meadows Boulevard / Vista Drive / Berkwood Place
– Cherry Ridge Boulevard / Sandra Drive
– Oakridge Boulevard / Concord Street
Detectives assigned to the Criminal Investigative Branch of 3 District (Welland / Pelham) have assumed carriage of all investigations. With the assistance of area residents, detectives have obtained surveillance footage of the suspect and the vehicle they are believed to be operating.
The suspect is described as follows:
– Male
– White
– Thin build
– Wearing a winter jacket with the hood up
The vehicle the suspect is operating is described as follows:
– Dark colour
– 4 door sedan
– Possibly a Honda Civic
Detectives are encouraging members of the public who reside in the vicinity of the aforementioned target locations to review their closed-circuit television (CCTV) for any footage that may assist in the investigation.
