Drug Investigation Leads to Arrests in the City of Niagara Falls

Since March of 2022 members of the Niagara Falls Street Crime Unit conducted an investigation into the sale of Fentanyl and Crystal Methamphetamine from a residence in the area of Waters Avenue and Bonnie Street, in the City of Niagara Falls.

On March 5, 2022, a warrant was executed at the residence. As a result, 8.2 grams of crystal methamphetamine (street value of $820), 4.1 grams of fentanyl (street value of $1,230), $420 in Canadian currency and numerous items that had been stolen recently from commercial break and enters from the Niagara Falls area were seized.

Kaitlynn Madill (25 years old) of Niagara Falls, was arrested and charged with the following offence of:

Possession of a schedule I substance (Crystal Methamphetamine) for the purpose of trafficking 

Madill was released on a Form 10 – Undertaking with a future court date.   

Joseph Cavanaugh (46 years old) of Niagara Falls, was arrested and charged with the following offences of:

Possession of a schedule I substance (Fentanyl) for the purpose of trafficking

Possession of a schedule I substance (Crystal Methamphetamine) for the purpose of trafficking

Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000

Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000

Cavanaugh was held in custody pending a bail hearing. 

Andrew Edwards (38 years old) of Niagara Falls, was arrested and charged with the following offences of:

Break and enter (11 counts) Trafficking proceeds of crime under $5000

Edwards was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
