Drug Trafficking Investigation Leads to Significant Seizure

Throughout August 2025, Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) detectives assigned to 2 District (Niagara Falls/Niagara-on-the-Lake) Street Crime Unit commenced an investigation into the distribution of illegal drugs.

On Tuesday, August 26, 2025, with the assistance of 3 District (Welland/Pelham) Street Crime Unit and the Emergency Task Unit, detectives received judicial authorization to execute a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant at a residence in Welland and two associated vehicles.

As a result of the investigation police arrested one individual and seized the following:

440.5 grams of suspected fentanyl worth a street value of $44,050.00 252.9 grams of suspected cocaine worth a street value of $30,348.00 378.7 grams of suspected crystal methamphetamine worth a street value of $29,500.00 $4630 in Canadian Currency Processing station including:

           – Vacuum sealer

           – Blender

           – Digital scale

           – Cutting agents

William BECKINGHAM (35 years) of Welland has been arrested and charged with the following criminal offences:

Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000 Possession of fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking Possession of crystal methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking Possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking

BECKINGHAM remains in custody and is scheduled to attend a bail hearing Wednesday, August 27, 2025, via video link to the Robert S.K. Welch Courthouse, located at 59 Church Street in St. Catharines.
