Graffiti Investigation Leads to Arrest – St. Catharines

In early September 2025, members of the Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) 1 District (St. Catharines/Thorold) Community Oriented Response and Engagement (CORE) Unit began to investigate reports of graffiti damage on a Church in the area of Church Street and Queenston Street in the City of St. Catharines.

At the conclusion of the investigation CORE officers identified a suspect. On Thursday, September 25, 2025, members of the CORE Unit arrested and charged Patrick CLIFF, a 40-year-old resident of St. Catharines, with the following Criminal Code offences:

Fail to Comply with Probation Order (2 counts) Mischief Under $5000 (3 Counts)

CLIFF attended a bail hearing on Friday, September 26, 2025, via video link to the Robert S.K. Welch Courthouse, located at 59 Church Street in St. Catharines where he was released with a future court date.

Members of the CORE Unit continue to work with area businesses in an effort to address graffiti concerns. Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 905-688-4111, dial option 3, extension 1009600.

Members of the community who wish to provide information anonymously can contact Crime Stoppers of Niagara online or by calling 1-800-222-8477. Crime Stoppers offers cash rewards to people who contact the program with information which leads to an arrest.
