On Thursday, June 5, 2025, at approximately 4:15 p.m. uniform members of the Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) 1 District (St. Catharines/Thorold), Niagara Emergency Medical Services (NEMS) and St. Catharines Fire Department responded to the intersection of Welland Avenue and Ontario Street in the City of St. Catharines for a reported motor vehicle collision.
Initial investigation determined that a truck was travelling eastbound on Fourth Avenue attempting to turn north through the intersection at Ontario Street. While travelling through the intersection a collision occurred with a motorcycle.
The driver of the motorcycle was taken to an out-of-region hospital where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries. The intersection of Welland Avenue and Ontario Street was closed while police conducted an investigation.
Anyone (residents / business owners) who may have been in the area with cell phones, closed circuit video recording, or dash camera footage between 4:10p.m. and 4:20 p.m., are asked to review their footage of the area and contact police if they observe anything that may be related to this investigation.
